Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
Here at Bourke Accounting, we are committed to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our firm’s operation. With this goal in mind, we strive to build a workplace that empowers, supports, and celebrates our team, our clients, and our community as a whole. Different ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds have fueled our growth over the years and we are dedicated to returning the favor.
We don’t just talk the talk – we walk the walk too! Some of our commitments for 2022 include:
1.Invest in our community
The diverse Louisville community has been home to Bourke Accounting since 2003 – and we feel it is important to give back to the city that helped us grow. Some of our major sponsorships include:
-AMPED RTBI (Russell Technology Business Incubator) – RTBI is the first nonprofit organization dedicated to growing and developing Black & Brown-owned businesses in the West Louisville area. This program provides coaches, training, and other resources at no charge to business owners who are accepted into the program. To learn more about their mission, click here.
-Drag Daddy Productions – This community theater nonprofit was designed to be a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ performers and audiences in the Louisville area. To see a list of upcoming shows and performances, click here.
-CCK (The Center for Courageous Kids) – CCK is a nonprofit group offering free-of-charge, medically staffed summer camp programs for seriously ill and disabled children. You can learn more about their mission here.
2. Educate and Empower
Bourke Accounting is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion education for all of its personnel. As part of this mission, our entire staff takes part in monthly “lunch-and-learn” seminars. These seminars cover a wide range of topics related to social justice and cultural sensitivity.
3. Support Our Team
At Bourke Accounting, it is important to us to foster a work environment that is fair and equitable to team members of every background. We utilize a published salary scale to ensure pay equity across our firm and offer “floating holidays” for team members who celebrate outside of the federally recognized Christian observances.
